THE GOAL

Our Over the Edge goal is to raise $100,000 to support the lifesaving mission of Coffee Memorial Blood Center! Be the Reason Someone Lives...

MEETING THE NEED

As the community's sole blood provider, CMBC’s unique mission is to provide a safe and adequate volunteer blood supply for the High Plains region of Texas and Oklahoma. Volunteer blood donors help us meet continuous needs and we are honored to connect them to patients.

In order to ensure adequate blood reserves for our community, CMBC must not only provide a primary blood center, but mobile opportunities to donate as well. More than 65% of the blood that we supply to area patients comes from mobile blood drives held throughout our region.

Food and shelter, for example, are important basic needs. However, for a patient in need of blood, the most important basic need at that minute is the necessary units of blood. For a mother in crisis during childbirth, it could mean the difference between life and death for her and her baby. For a car accident victim who is bleeding internally, it is the only way they will survive to spend another holiday with loved ones. The stories are endless, but the supply of blood can be limited if the necessary resources are not available.

ABOUT COFFEE MEMORIAL BLOOD CENTER

Coffee Memorial Blood Center (CMBC), an independent, nonprofit community blood center, collects, processes tests and distributes more than 30,000 units of blood and blood components annually to 29 health care facilities in the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. CMBC is the only provider of blood and blood components for a population of nearly 500,000 people in this 40,000 square mile service area.

The need is constant and our sole mission is to ensure lives are saved.

The photos on this page are just a few of the local patients whose lives have been saved by transfusions.

Most people have probably heard about blood drives and how Coffee Memorial connects amazing donors to patients in need.

As a nonprofit, Coffee Memorial is also in need of financial donations to support our mission.
